A series of workshops, events and an exhibition over spring/summer 2022 sharing artist in residence, Emily Bowers’ research and inspiration from the community orchard with the local community.
Emily led a community workshop at the Orchard in August for the community with a BYO picnic, games, facepainting and an art workshop. This was followed by a Creatives Gathering, where local creatives came together for plein air session. Art work from the workshops was on display on Apple Day at Stamford Arts Centre, plus a subsequent display in the Art Windows on Ironmongers Street.
In addition, a WALKshop (workshop while walking/tour) with artist Kathryn Parsons & botanist Sarah Lambert exploring the hidden natural treasures of Stamford included a visit to the Orchard. The WALKshop teaches the skills and encourages participants to make repeat regular ‘creative noticing’ excursions themselves (5 Ways to Wellbeing).
