In the midst of the 2020 pandemic, Art Pop-Up took its performers out to the streets for The Secret Doorstep Festival, creating a new model for one of the first COVID-Secure outdoor performances to be run in the UK. The 10 performances were hosted in partnership with residents at locations on housing estates in Stamford selected in partnership with The Bluecoat School, The Evergreen Care Trust, The Royal British Legion and Foodbank personnel to bring joy and connection to some of the most vulnerable in our community.
The performance included a new dance work inspired by feedback from the community from Casson & Friends, poetry, storytelling and folk music by Pennyless.
The events were funded by South Kesteven District Council’s community fund & Stamford Town Council.
