Art Pop-Up’s Youth Engagement Programme: Get Creative, Get Involved
We are excited to be able to share our 2024 Youth Program “Get Creative, Get Involved.”
All activities in the programme are free to attend, although you may be required to secure a ticket for some events due to limited places.
Weekly Wednesday evening drop-in sessions
These sessions will include a programme of organised activities twice a month alternating with discussions led by commissioned professional youth workers on topics such as drugs, careers & aspirations + volunteer guest speakers.
These sessions are youth-led; programmed in accordance with the requests of the young people attending the successful summer 2023 consultation initiative which hosted weekly sessions at The Shack.
Snacks & refreshments will be very kindly donated every week by George’s Food Hub.
Young persons’ skills development Masterclasses
We will be hosting a programme of monthly workshops led by creative practitioners teaching ‘lost’ and life skills and stimulating creative problem solving, leadership and teamwork
Learn how to add Digitally Augmented Reality to your illustrations – with Amanda Rigby.

Learn how to upscale you artwork to produce a mural
25th Febraury – 2-5pm – @ The Shack
- in preparation for producing a collaborative piece at the Street Art festival.
Learn how to digitise your artwork

- including the technical specifications and requirements so that it is print worthy. Then produce your own sticker giveaways for the Street Art Festival.
Learn how to upcycle clothes
14th April – 2-5pm @ The Shack
- From no-sew techniques to embroidery and ornate woven mends, dig out some wardrobe leftovers and transform them ready for the Clothes Swish Event.
Learn the key stages in event planning

January Blues busting Movie Night – 27th January @ URC Hall, Broadstreet, Stamford, PE9 1PJ
Enjoy a relaxed ‘pop-up cinema’ movie night with an unloved gift swap activity. Movie will be voted for in advance.
Clothes Swish Event for young people – 19th May @ URC Hall, Broad Street, Stamford, PE9 1PJ – (Time TBC)
Update and refresh your wardrobe bringing items you no longer wear to trade in a giant clothes swap and upcycling session. ∙ An impactful initiative fighting fast fashion and encouraging sustainable consumption.
Family creative/making events
Based on the successful trials of our Arts Council funded Make Space, these are half termly Sunday afternoon sessions for families to create and craft together.
They are themed to tie in with activities throughout the programme. Each session offers the opportunity to work with an artists or the first hour, then make your way together round 5 different artwork/craft stations for the second hour.

ART Walks outdoor exhibition (trail)
∙ Create a 2d artwork for display in the town centre as part of the February half term ART Walks event.
We will be hosting a number of workshops in schools as well as 2 community free workshops to create artwork for the exhibiton. Join in the 2 community workshops and learn some great tips to make your work stand out! Make your own art yo put in your window too!

Art Walk Community Workshop 2 – 12th February (venue TBC) – 1-4pm
60 artworks will be printed and displayed in the town centre as a trail along with 3 commissioned Augmented Reality works by local professional artists!
The Art trail will be available to experience from Friday 16th Feb through to Sunday 18th February.

Street Art Festival with live mural painting
We will be hosting a one day Street Art Festival creating a pop up mural painting space in Red Lion Square, Stamford.
Live Street Art festvial with Mural Painting event – Sunday April 21st 2024 11am- 4pm.
Featuring 12 nationally acclaimed and local urban artists painting live using a range of materials including spray paint, markers and paint.
We will host a free Community making workshop leading up to the event, watch our social media for details!
